This post comes from Julie Sawatzky de Lem, who is married to Julio Lem the head leader of the Purulha church congregation. You can follow their blog at https://julioandjulielem.wordpress.com. On Mother’s Day Sunday, Julio, the rest of our leadership team, and some Church members put into practice Matthew 28:19. GO! And they did. They traveled more than an hour into the back roads of Purulha, to a village where people were crying out for the Good News. One man from our church travels to different villages selling medicine, a commodity that is hard to get when you live so far away with no means of transportation. He has been taking tracts with him and handing them out as he goes door to door offering medications. The seeds he was sowing had taken root, and a community leader sought him out, asking for more Bible Training. Some of the children from our Church and School helped lead worship, a prime example of 1 Timothy 4:12, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” Victor, one of our Church leaders fluent in Kekchi, shared a message with those gathered around. What a privilege to take the Word of God to people who are spiritually hungry.
