The Challenge
Current child sponsorship is no longer sufficient to cover the costs of all the services we provide to a student. This has been compounded by the low Canadian dollar and mandated increases in salaries and benefits by the Guatemalan government. So we have embarked on a Support A Class Program.
Recent statistics say that over 80% of Christians make the decision to follow Christ before the age of 18. Children are a priority to Jesus, and they need to be a priority to us! For this reason Impact Ministries focuses on training children to know the Lord, become the witnesses in their own homes, and the leaders of the next generation.
Why is this program needed?

We need at least 10 class supporters giving $50/month for each class in our schools.

We are so blessed and love sponsoring Loida our sponsor child with Impact Ministries. On our trip to Guatemala this past August our biggest impression was the Guatemalan teachers and leaders. Every school we visited we paid extreme attention to these young men and women. They are obviously blessed and led by GOD! When we heard about the “Support a Class” project it felt like a perfect way to live out Ezra 10:4 and say to these young teachers and leaders “Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it! – Ezra 10:4” We want to help these teachers be able to guide their young students in the classroom, who in turn will lead their families to the Lord. To us this project feels like an extension of sponsoring an individual child, and we believe that the impact felt in Tactic and the surrounding communities will continue to multiply! – Bill & Debra C.

Selvin was a student in our school and is now a vice principal in the Chamche school. Currently, over 40% of the staff are former students. |
